Outstanding care for my elderly mother. My 100 year old mother was treated with such kindness and concern when we visited the Ophthalmology department. She had been referred by her optician, who was of the opinion that removal of a cataract would help with her difficulty in seeing to read and write. Alas, it transpired that such a procedure would not help her central vision; the very eminent macular consultant (I see they have contributed to many academic papers), with whom she did not have an appointment, and who was on their way home, was called back by the Sister, and stayed for a considerable time, giving advice about her scans and examining her eyes. Although the news was rather shattering, we were immensely touched by everyone's very evident desire to help. She is now taking extra pleasure in appreciating the sight that is left to her, enjoying the colours and shapes of all the trees in front of her little cottage, and rejoicing in the fact that she can see well enough to walk to the shops in Devizes several times a week.

I can’t thank you enough for what you did for me. I was terrified of the procedure after the extremely painful time I had with my right eye elsewhere.
